Isner, Eleanor Martin
October 14, 1941 - March 29, 2021
Mrs. Eleanor Martin Isner, 79, a resident of Harrisonburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 29, 2021. Mrs. Isner was born Oct. 14, 1941, in Rockingham County, Va.; she was the wife of the late Kenneth W. Isner for 56 years. Eleanor was the eldest daughter of the late Merle E. and Mildred (Lahman) Martin.
She is survived by her children, Kendra Isner of Phoenix, Ariz., Cheryl Hynes and husband, Brendan Sr. and two grandchildren, Brendan Jr. and Abigail of Parker, Colo.; siblings, Charlene (James) Duncan of Harrisonburg, Va., and Dorothy (Dennis) Swartzendruber of Bay Port, Mich.
Eleanor graduated from Eastern Mennonite High School (EMHS), Rockingham Memorial Hospital (RMH) and Arizona State University (ASU), Schools of Nursing. During her nurse’s training, Eleanor spent time in Norfolk, Va., planning to work in the Appalachia of Kentucky as a midwife. After meeting Ken, plans changed. They were wed at Weavers Mennonite Church of Harrisonburg, Va., on Aug. 14, 1964.
After marriage, Eleanor joined Ken to live on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. Eleanor worked as a nurse at a local school. When Ken and Eleanor moved to Phoenix, Ariz., Eleanor completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at ASU. They were founding members of Trinity Mennonite Church, Glendale, Ariz. Eleanor continued as a nurse at Beatitudes Care Center.
In 1973, the Isner family moved to Newport News, Va. Ken and Eleanor worked for Eleanor’s late father’s bus business. This launched the entire family into tourism. The Isners were members of Huntington Mennonite Church and supported Christian education at Warwick River Christian School. While in Newport News, they learned of Bible Broadcasting Network (BBN) and have been partners with them in taking The Gospel to the Nations via radio for over 40 years. With her family, Eleanor delighted in camping with her parents, her sisters and their families choosing a different state to visit each year. The Isner family enjoyed attending Virginia Mennonite Conference at Highland Retreat.
In 1984, the Isners returned to Harrisonburg for their daughters to attend EMHS. Eleanor returned to RMH where she had begun her nursing career. She continued to work there until she retired in 2017 completing 45 years of nursing. The Isners were charter members at Cornerstone Church of Broadway.
Eleanor’s late husband, Kenneth “China Man,” introduced the family to the world through visits of international students coming to their home. Eleanor enjoyed meeting many people and relished their cooking! She taught many of them how to sing English Christian hymns and took many of them to Christian Church. In 1991, Eleanor and Ken were invited to teach English in China. Upon returning back to the States, they continued to have connection with Internationals as God brought the world into their home. They also traveled to other countries together, including Haiti, Taiwan and Israel. The Isners are now “Forever Home”, touring together again, exploring and “Walking on the Streets of Gold.”
A joint ‘Celebration of Lives’ service will be held for Ken and Eleanor at Cornerstone Church of Broadway on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 11:00 am. Kenneth passed on Sept. 14, 2020.

Jantzi, Glendon C.
April 19, 1927 - July 22, 2021
Glendon C. Jantzi, 94, of Goshen died Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Greencroft Health Care.
He was born April, 19, 1927 in Alden, New York to Michael and Alma (Zehr) Jantzi.
On June 19, 1965 he married Vlasta Maria Cvitanovich in Long Island, New York.
He is survived by a daughter, Mona (Matthew Connor) Jantzi of Broomall, Pennsylvania and two grandchildren, Duncan and Scarlett Connor.
Along with his parents and wife, Vlasta Jantzi, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lonna Yoder and two brothers Lewellen and Donald Jantzi.
Mr. Jantzi graduated from Eastern Mennonite High School, Virginia. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Goshen College; while at Goshen College Glendon served with M.C.C. in Jordan for five years. He later received his Masters of Divinity from Hartford Seminary Foundation of Religion and Psychiatry, New York City. Mr. Jantzi served as a Director of Clinical Pastoral Education at Bellevue, New York City for 33 years, where he retired in 2000.
He was a member of Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen.
In keeping with his wishes, his cremated remains will be scattered at the Greencroft Memorial Garden.
Services will take place at a later time.

Kauffman, Beulah Mae Hostetler
January 6, 1936 - January 23, 2021
Beulah Mae (Hostetler) Kauffman was born January 6, 1936 to Elmer and Vinnie (Baker) Hostetler at Harrisburg, Oregon. She peacefully passed away on January 23, 2021, at the home of her daughter Joanne and husband Ben Hostetler, at Buffalo, MO, at the age of 85 years and 17 days, with all of her children and some of the grandchildren at her bedside. She accepted Christ as her Saviour and was baptized in her youth. She was a faithful member of the Crest View Amish Mennonite Church, Creston Iowa, at the time of her death.
On January 10, 1954 she was united in marriage to Glendon Kauffman, son of Melvin and Mabel Kauffman, near Yoncalla, Oregon. He passed away on June 24, 2017, having shared 63 years of life together. To this union were born 6 children, 4 sons and 2 daughters. Ronald and wife Shirley, Creston, IA; Gary and wife Sharon, Lorimor, LA; Clifford and wife LaRita, Lorimor, LA; Randall and wife Iva, Monroe, WI; LaVonne (deceased); Joanne and husband Ben Hostetler, Buffalo, MO. Also surviving are 33 grandchildren, 98 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, 4 brothers and 7 sisters, Betty (wife of the late Tim Hostetler) Buffalo, MO; Bert and husband Les Hostetler, Tampico, IL; Marvin, Buffalo, MO; Margaret and husband John Knox, Sedalia, MO; Virginia and husband Victor Shrock, Tampico, IL; Elmer Jr. and wife Martha, Buffalo, MO; Roy and wife Nora, Clarksville, AR; Sharon and husband Henry Hostetler, Russellville, KY; Bob and wife Regina, Mena, AR; Patty and husband David Hostetler, Buffalo, MO; and Mary and husband Orvie Knox, Sedalia, MO. Also brother-in-law Don Hostetler, Hotchkiss, CO; sisters-in-law Susie Hostetler, El Dorado Springs, MO; and Shirley Rropf, Sedalia, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents, husband, and daughter LaVonne are 1 granddaughter, 3 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Marie Troyer; twin infants Ruth and Ruby; Merlene Hostetler, and 3 brothers John, Levi and Donnie.
In 1962 Glendon and Beulah and their 4 children moved from Oregon to Muscoda, WI. After living in Wisconsin for 46 years, they moved to Lonmor, Iowa. There they made their home on a nice little place, enjoying family and church family around, coming for coffee breaks and visits. The pretzel jar always an attraction, and lots of special memories were made. Beulah was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease several years after moving to Iowa. After the death of her husband, the children and granddaughters began taking turns being there to help care for her and LaVonne. LaVonne, who was mentally handicapped, was blest to have a patient mother over the years. Beulah was an inspiration to other parents with children having special needs. As her health declined her children faithfully took care of her. In the last year taking turns having her in their homes. Grandma had a genuine desire and concern that she, her family and church, and others too, would live for the Lord and follow his commandments. With the help of the Lord, she was a faithful example to us all. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and support and for the many deeds of kindness shown.
Kauffman, Darrell A.
July 24, 1945 - September 21, 2021
Goshen – Darrell A. Kauffman, 76, died Tuesday, Sept. 21 at his home.
He was born July 24, 1945 in Goshen to Melvin and Betty (Hostetler) Kauffman.
He married Lydia Graber on June 28, 1964 in Goshen.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Gina (Scott) Stone of Goshen; a son, Shannon (Lori) Kauffman of Centerville, Ohio; six grandchildren, Zachary, Alexandria, Anna, Caleb, Lucas and Isaac; six great-grandchildren, Colt, Rex, Nia, Teesha, Kayla and Angel; a sister, Linda (Paul) Boyer; and a brother Gerald Kauffman.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melvin Kauffman and a sister-in-law, Sandy Kauffman.
Darrell graduated from Bethany Christian School in 1963. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker. A faithful Christian, he was the best friend and supporter to his children. He worked as a truck driver for 18 years, later on he was a dispatcher in the transportation industry.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and Thursday, from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Pleasant View Church. Pastor Mark Snyder will officiate.
Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to Pleasant View Church Benefit Fund or Bashor Home.
Kauffman, Grace A. Diem
June 10, 1942 - March 8, 2021
Grace A. Kauffman, 78, of Mount Pleasant Mills, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born June 10, 1942, in Stevens, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Esther (Horst) Diem.
On Aug. 10, 1963, she married her surviving husband, Wayne Kauffman, with whom she was blessed to share more than 57 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Dale Kauffman and wife Rochelle of Shellman, Ga.; two daughters, Joyce Kauffman and Janice Stoltzfus and her husband Daniel, all of Mount Pleasant Mills; eight grandchildren, Daren, Charity, Ethan, Nevin, Braden, and Andrew Kauffman, all of Shellman, Ga., Danita Stoltzfus of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Larelle Grace and her husband Mahlon Brubaker of Port Trevorton; two brothers, Merle Diem and his wife Thelma and John Diem and his wife Sharon; three sisters, Mary Fox, Anna Brubaker and her husband Lloyd, and Elizabeth Weaver and her husband Earl; and three sisters-in-law, June Heller, Shirley Helmuth and her husband Larry, and Doris Dressler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ivan Diem; and one sister-in-law, Elnora Diem.
Grace was a 1960 graduate of Myerstown High School.
Along with her husband, in 1967, she co-founded Kauffman Farm Supply in Mount Pleasant Mills and later established Kauffman Farm Supply in Belleville.
Her hobbies included gardening, tending to flowers, reading and writing; however, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a dearly loved wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed.
She was of the Mennonite faith.
The Kauffman family would like to thank the staff of Geisinger Hospice and the Geisinger Medical Center for their care and compassion extended to Grace and the family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, at the Delaware Mennonite Church, 16 Delaware Church Road, East Salem, with Pastor Kenneth Freed, Pastor Orval Graybill, Bishop Conrad Brubaker, and her son, Dale Kauffman officiating. A viewing will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 12, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Interment will follow in the Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Oakland Mills.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Kauffman's memory can be made to Christian Aid Ministries, 2412 Division Hwy, Ephrata, PA 17522.

Irene J. Kauffman, 81 years, 20 days, of Arcola, Illinois passed away at 3:30 P.M. on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Carriage Crossing Senior Living in Arcola, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the HCK West Building, one mile south of Arthur, Illinois. Bishop Ervin Plank will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, Illinois. Visitation will be held any time after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the HCK West Building. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Irene was born on October 1, 1940 in Arcola, Ilinois. She was a daughter of Joel J. and Katie Ann (Schlabach) Kauffman.
She is survived by two sisters, Elsie Yoder of Arcola, IL and Mary Ellen and her husband Lester Lee of Arthur, IL, two brothers-in-law, Harvey Kuhns of Tuscola, IL and Dannie Otto and his wife Fannie of Arthur, IL and one sister-in-law, Anna Kauffman of Shipshewana, IN, 15 nieces and 22 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Eli (Bertha) Kauffman, Jacob, Daniel and Ervin Kauffman, and 5 sisters, Fannie (Jonas) Miller, Alma (Menno) Kuhns and Menno's second wife, Esther, Verna Kuhns, Abbie Kauffman and Annie Mae Otto.
Irene was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Kauffman, Randall Dean "Randy"
February 7, 1966 - April 23, 2021
Randall "Randy" Dean Kauffman, 55 of Glendale, WI died unexpectedly on April 23rd, 2021. He was born February 7, 1966, in Goshen Indiana, the son of Norman and Clara (Weirich) Kauffman. Randy graduated from Northridge High School in 1984, Hesston College in 1986 and Goshen College in 1988.
Randy spent all of his working career as an IT programmer. We are all deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Randy Kauffman. Randy had many great discussions over the years about everything from the rise and fall of gold and silver prices to who the next coach of IU should be. One thing that we know for sure is that he had a very deep faith in God and Jesus Christ. Randy's faith was not the “show up to church on Sunday and socialize” kind of faith, nor was it the kind of faith that was politicized and wrapped in an American flag. No, Randy's Faith was about love; his faith was about forgiveness. Randy's Faith was about knowing that Jesus had risen from the dead and was walking with him daily as a friend. His greatest spiritual influence was former Christian musician Rich Mullens. Rich Mullens literally believed in the scripture that said, "Foxes have holes and birds have nests, but (if you are to be my disciple) the son of man will have no place to lay his head”. This was a radical Faith. The kind of Faith that asks the question, “who are the least of these?" Randy often donated some of his earnings to charities which he believed would improve lives. Randy had a deep love for his family, for his friends and for the stranger, the rejected and underdog in society. He cared deeply about peace and absolutely hated confrontation (unless it involved periodically confronting optimistic bloggers about his disappointment in the Indiana University Basketball Program). Randy could be quiet and at times passive, and on occasion he could even be meek. Yet it was Jesus who said "blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth." Randy talked often about his Faith; he was not afraid to be still and know and recognize who God really was. He chose to walk alongside those who were lost and needed support. He didn't quote scripture ‘at’ those who wandered from their faith, but instead chose to love. Randy, we all thank you for demonstrating to us what it means to truly be a kind soul in this uncertain and hostile world. We thank you for quietly and consistently living your Christian faith daily in the way you chose to interact with and care generously for your friends and family. Parents should never have to bury a child. However, you are being buried with all of us certain that you are being welcomed by a heavenly voice that is saying “well done my good and faithful servant”. I know it sounds cliche, (and I can hear your soft raspy chuckle for acknowledging that this IS cliche), however, You have fought the good fight, You have ran the race, and most importantly you have kept the Faith!

His nephews and nieces Shane and Brigitte (Koerner) Yoder, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Samantha (Yoder) and John Malone, Pardeeville, Wisconsin, Logan and Tiffany (Berkey) Schrock, Millersburg, Indiana, Lucas Schrock,Cromwell, Indiana, Lauryn (Schrock) and Ryan Lenker, Goshen, Indiana. Sarina (Hartman) and Tucker Thigpen,Harrisonburg, Virginia, Sophia Hartman, Richmond, Virginia and Sarah Hartman, Harrisonburg, Virginia. Randy, we miss you and we love you. We will miss you, as a son, as a brother, as an uncle and as a friend. We love you and will miss you! Until we meet again... A service of remembrance will be held at Clinton Frame Church, 63846 CR 35, Goshen on July 31 with a time to be determined. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
Kaufman, Charles "Chuck"
March 30, 1952 - December 28, 2021
Charles "Chuck" Kaufman, 69 of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on December 28, 2021.
He was born on March 30, 1952 to Melvin and Lois Kaufman Bontreger. They preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Gail (Kevin) Brumbaugh of Wakarusa: brother, Don (Kris) Kaufman of Pegram, Tennessee; nieces, nephews, step niece and nephew, great nieces and nephews; and a great great nephew. Also surviving are a step-father, Harold Bontreger; step-brothers Kent (Becky) Bontreger of Middlebury and Tim (Laurie) Bontreger of Goshen, their families and an innumerable amount of friends.
He graduated from Bethany Christian High School in 1970, attended Eastern Mennonite College and graduated from George Mason University with a BA in Government and Politics.
His wishes were to have his ashes scattered in the mountains of Tucson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
He lived out his passion in being the voice of the voiceless. His life is best remembered by excerpts of comments made by family and friends:

Daniel J. Kaufman, 98, of Arthur, Illinois passed away at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at his residence
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the HCK West Building in rural Arthur, Illinois. Bishop Howard A. Otto will officiate. Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery. Visitation will be held any time after 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the HCK West Building, 1 mile south of Arthur, Illinois. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Daniel was born May 11, 1923 in Moultrie County, Illinois. He was a son of Jephthah G. and Rebecca S. (Miller) Kaufman. He married Malinda Mae Miller on August 23, 1945, in Douglas County, Illinois she passed away April 7, 2000. He later married Annie J Beachy November 15, 2001 in Moultrie County, Illinois.
Survivors include his wife Annie Kaufman, 3 sons William D. Kaufman and his wife Patti Jo of Fort Wayne, IN, Dannie D Kaufman and his wife Edna Me of Rexford, MT, and Merle D. Kaufman and his wife Dorothy of Arthur, IL; 3 daughters Nancy D. Schrock of Arthur, IL, Katie D. Kaufman of Arthur, IL and Elizabeth D. and her husband Willis E. Schrock of Arcola, IL; 16 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
Daniel was preceded in death by his first wife Malinda Miller, his parents Jeff and Rebecca Kaufman; one sister Katie and 5 brothers Andy, Amzy, Noah, Reuben and Felty.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Keener, Mary K. Shearer
October 23, 1928 - August 21, 2021
Mary K. Keener, 92, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on August 21, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Elizabethtown, PA to the late Irvin K. and Anna (Gish) Shearer. Mary was the loving wife of Harold L. Keener, her childhood sweetheart, to whom she was married for 72 years.
She is survived by eight children: Herb (Barb Gall) of Columbia; Carolyn (Leon) Hoover of Fresno, CA; Joyce (Nelson) Weaver of New Holland; Steve (Marilyn Musser) of Mount Joy; Willy (Barb Miller) of Elizabethtown; Jeff (Cathy Brubaker) of Mount Joy; Kathy (Stan) Keener Shantz of Lancaster; and Julie (Pete) Newman of Sidney, British Columbia, Canada.
Mary has 23 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Helen Hess of Washington Boro and Anna Dorothy Damon (Dick), of Bozeman, MT and one brother, John Shearer (Vel), of Lititz.
She was a lifelong member of Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, where she was actively involved in many activities, including Sewing Circle, teaching Sunday school and the kitchen committee. She was happiest in her kitchen, where she shared her gift of hospitality with many who enjoyed her delicious meals. Mary always wanted to make sure everyone felt included around her table.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Mary volunteered at the Mennonite Home and later became employed there as a cook. Following her retirement, she volunteered at the Mount Joy ReUzit Shop and Love INC. She was truly in her element when she was serving others.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, August 25 from 4–6:00 pm at Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, 300 South Spruce Street, Elizabethtown, PA. The funeral will follow at 6:00 pm. Masks are encouraged. Keener, Sara A. Martin
October 8, 1940 - August 6, 2021
Sara A. Keener, 80, of Mount Joy, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, August 6, 2021 at Juniper Village following an extensive illness. Born in Penryn, she was the daughter of the late William K. and Sara E. Brubaker Martin. She was the loving wife of James E. Keener for 58 years on November 24, 2020.
Sara was a faithful member of Marietta Community Church where she served in the library. As a newly married couple, Sara and Jim spent nearly two years serving in Mennonite Volunteer Service where Sara was a nurse's aide at Crawford W. Long Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Following volunteer service, she devoted herself as a homemaker, wife, and mother. Among many other gifts, she was an accomplished seamstress. She made clothing for her family, Teddy bears for her grandchildren, and designed and sewed hundreds of comfort tops for those in need. She also tended a garden and canned many, many quarts of fruits and vegetables each year. In addition to her natural children, Sara was a foster mother to seven children. Later in life, she enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together and listening to audio books.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Brenda S. Drennan, wife of the late John F. Drennan, III, of Elizabethtown, Larry D., husband of Wendy L. Rowe Keener, of Ronks, and Jerry A., husband of I. Kehr, Genevive Irene Miller
March 10, 1938 - November 7, 2021
Genevive Irene (Miller) Kehr, 83, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen. Born March 10, 1938 in Emmatown, she was the daughter of the late Harold J. and Ethyl (Norwood) Miller.
On October 7, 1956 she married Jesse S. Kehr Jr., who survives her. To this union were born three sons – Robert S. of Sutter Creek, California, Bryan L. of North Newton, Kansas, and Ronald L., deceased. She is survived by her brother Daniel B. Miller, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Genie loved to sing and always had an inspirational tune to offer, even in difficult times. She loved to cook, knit, crochet, and sew. She was generous with her time and talents while helping others, and you could often count on finding the fruits of her labor at local Craft Bazaars.
Genie was a wonderful companion, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 5 to 7p.m. and Sunday, November 14, from 12, noon, until the 2p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
Burial will follow at Yellow Creek Mennonite North Cemetery following the service.

Keim, Ruth Irene
April 3, 1920 - February 24, 2021
Ruth Irene Keim, 100, of Goshen, passed from this life to the next on February 24, 2021.
She was born April 3, 1920 in White Pigeon, Michigan, to Menno and Libbie Rhinesmith Keim.
Ruth lived a life of service for her neighbors, her community and her world. During her earlier years she worked as a seamstress at The Famous in Goshen. Ruth served two terms with Mennonite Central Committee, from 1958-1961 in South Korea and from 1962-1965 in Jordan. She worked in both countries on projects which taught women to sew, in order to become self-sufficient. Upon her return to Goshen she worked for 18 years as the postmaster at Goshen College.
In retirement she volunteered for several years at MCC in Akron, Pennsylvania and managed Ten Thousand Villages stores in Goshen and North Carolina with her sister Martha.
Ruth was a life-long learner and an avid reader. Up until her death she would continue to read through the Bible and also read several full novels every two weeks. She enjoyed spending time with family and staying abreast of current events in the world. As an 85 year member of Forks Mennonite Church and more recently Eighth Street Mennonite Church, she was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and lived to show his love to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by a brother, Dan Keim of Goshen, and numerous nieces and nephews, who will dearly miss her.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials in Ruth’s memory may be given to Mennonite Central Committee or Ten Thousand Villages, Goshen.
Keller, Lloyd B.

Lloyd B. Keller, 90, formerly of Manheim, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata. Born on July 14, 1930 in Lititz, he was the son of John R. and Anna B. Keller. On December 2, 1950, he married Eunice K. Martin, who preceded him in death on October 9, 2020. Lloyd was a faithful husband and father over their almost 70 years of marriage. Lloyd was a farmer most of his life and a long-time member of Erb Mennonite Church, Lititz, where he served as deacon for many years and served as treasurer of Sunday School Meditations for a number of years.
Surviving are six children: Barbara Sitkowski of Jonestown, Janet Blosser (Floyd) of Harrisonburg, VA, Gerald Keller (Diane) of Waynesboro, GA, David Keller (Arlene) of East Berlin, Donna Keener (Dennis) of Turbotville and Cheryl Beiler (Keith) of Paradise; daughter-in-law, Lois K. Keller of Lititz; 35 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Ruth Charles of Lititz. He was preceded in death by a son, J. Robert Keller, a grandson, Daryl Keller, a son-in-law, Gary Sitkowski, and 3 siblings: Mildred Nolt, John Keller, and Anna Mary Keller.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lloyd's funeral service at Erb Mennonite Church, 567 West Lexington Road, Lititz on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Ralph L. Kennell, 80, Goshen, died 9:45 a.m. Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Goshen Hospital. He lived in Elkhart County for 52 years, coming from Woodford County, Illinois. Ralph was born June 3, 1940 in Peoria, Illinois, to Reuben & Elsie (Martin) Kennell. On January 14, 1967, he married Julia (Weaver) Kennell.
Surviving are his wife, Julia, Goshen, son, Rick (Vicki) Kennell, Lafayette, daughter, Carla (Lyle) Weaver, Goshen, 4 grandchildren, Thomas, Jared, Kylie and Bryce, sister, Luann Susan Gerber, Goshen, brothers, Leonard (Velda) Kennell, Benson, Illinois, Carl (Kathy) Washburn, Illinois, Ervin (Rose) Kennell, Delta, Colorado, sisters-in-law, Emily Kennell, Lydia Kennell, Shirley Kennell and Pam Kennell.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers, Kenneth, Marvin, Harold and John Kennell.
Ralph was a farmer, delivered RV’s, produce, livestock and provided transportation to anyone who wanted a ride. He was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church. Ralph liked to visit, fish, play Euchre and spending winters in Florida.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021, at the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall, enter the West entrance or office entrance on the South Side. Funeral services will follow at 11:15 a.m. in the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church Sanctuary. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed. Pastor Wes Bontreger will officiate. Tammy J. Kennell, 40, of Washburn, IL, passed away surrounded by her family at 5:12 pm on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born on March 25, 1981, in Peoria, IL, to Carl “Pete” and Kathy (Ulrich) Kennell.
Surviving are her parents of Washburn; brothers, Matthew (Jeanette) Kennell of Benson and Jason (Cassie) Kennell of Roanoke; and nieces and nephews, Trevor, Shawn, Cody, Kari, Jordan, Blake, Ashton, Kylar, Callie, and Kamryn Kennell. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, six uncles, and special cousin Danny Kennell.
Tammy was employed at Choice books. She loved interacting with people and sharing the love of Jesus with those around her! She loved spending time with her family; and especially treasured the relationship she had with each of her nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Linn Mennonite Church in Roanoke with Steve Ulrich officiating. King, John D.
March 21, 1936 - March 29, 2021
John D. King, was born March 21, 1936, in Hartford City, Indiana, to Sam and Nellie (Zook) King. Three months later he accompanied his missionary parents to India, eventually attending boarding school at Kodaikanal International School in southern India and graduating from high school in 1953 before the family’s return to the United States.
On August 2, 1958, he married Jean Sutter at Hopedale Mennonite Church, Hopedale, Illinois. In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by his son Randall King (Patricia) La Grange Park, Illinois; and daughter, Karen King (David Ammar) of Tampa, Florida; and grandchildren John J. King (Chicago), Catherine King (Chicago), Daniel King (Chicago), Simon Ammar (Tampa), and Helen Ammar (Tampa); and brother Stan King (Bonnie) of Goshen, Indiana.
John earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Education from Goshen College in 1957. John began his career in education, first teaching for 2 years at Starr Commonwealth, Albion, Michigan; this was his 1W service as a conscientious objector (1957-1959). The remainder of his career included 33 years at Lyons Township High School, La Grange, Illinois, where he served in various capacities - as a math teacher, special education teacher, guidance counselor, dean of students, and soccer and basketball coach. He received a Master’s Degree from Chicago Teachers College in 1965.
John enjoyed his students and players a great deal, starting the school’s soccer program and being selected Illinois high school soccer coach of the year. While living in the Chicago suburbs, he served as treasurer for Lombard Mennonite Church for many years.
Upon retirement, John and Jean moved to Aiken, South Carolina, where John enjoyed playing golf, maintaining a wide range of ornamental plants around their home, and following the activities of their grandchildren. Since childhood, John played and avidly followed sports, having a keen interest in and understanding of many. He enjoyed travel; researching, planning, and photographing trips he and Jean made throughout much of North America and internationally.
Interment of ashes will be at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions in honor of John may be made to the Sutter Family Memorial Scholarship at Goshen College.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 10 until the 11 a.m., memorial service at College Mennonite Church.

Wayne David King, 90, of Hesston, Kansas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
He was born September 6, 1931, in Harper, Kansas, to Henry J. and Anna L. (Hartzler) King.
Wayne married Clara Mast on July 2, 1954, in Arthur, Illinois.
He was a retired pastor, serving Mennonite congregations in Illinois, Ohio, and New York.
He is survived by his wife, Clara King of Hesston; daughter, Carol Ann (King) Erion and her husband Donald of Old Monroe, Missouri; son, Gordon Lee King and his wife, Christine (Kline) of Brunswick, Ohio; son, Ronald Dean King of Mesa, Arizona; daughter, Lynne Elizabeth Smith and her husband Bradley J of Gilbert Arizona; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced and held at a later date. Private family inurnment will take place at Eastlawn Cemetery, Zimmerdale, KS. Kinsinger, Betty Lou Witmer
August 28, 1961 - March 19, 2021
In the early afternoon of March 19, 2021, Betty Lou Kinsinger, age 59, of Waynesboro, Va., accepted her invitation to the Wedding Supper of the Lamb. Betty Lou had been anticipating her homegoing for a few years, ever since she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2017 and was told that she had nearly slipped into a coma due to high blood sugar. Betty Lou was looking forward to her heavenly wedding day and specifically requested that she be dressed in white for her funeral. Her children have carried out her wishes and dressed Betty Lou in her favorite white dress for this sad but joyous occasion.
Betty Lou (Witmer) Kinsinger was born on Aug. 28, 1961. She grew up in Mount Crawford, Va., and was the second of six children born to Amos Henry Witmer and Wilda Grace (Knicely) Witmer. When Betty Lou was young, she had two nicknames: “Sunshine” and “Freckles.” She had a small sprinkling of freckles that graced her cheeks throughout her life (Especially in the summertime, because she loved being outdoors working in her garden, mowing the lawn, and planting gorgeous flowers. Her green thumb was notorious.). But the nickname “Sunshine” better suited her personality than “Freckles.” She was a loving, happy, uncomplicated person who quietly enjoyed life and brought joy to others. Her chief ambition in life was to love those around her well, and her expressions of love often took the form of food. Betty Lou enjoyed cooking and was famous for the annual banquets that she created for her husband’s seed corn customers, the feasts that she lavished upon guests in her home, and the smaller meals served with devotion and great joy to her immediate and extended family.
Betty Lou attended public school for first grade before her parents enrolled her at Hickory Hollow Christian School in Bridgewater, Va. Betty Lou then attended Hickory Hollow Christian School until the 8th grade. In her youth, Betty Lou committed her life to the Lord and followed Him wholeheartedly as best as she knew how throughout her life.
After completing her schooling, she briefly worked as a kitchen assistant at Rockingham Memorial Hospital before marrying Simon Kinsinger, the love of her life on Nov. 20, 1981. To their union was born four children: two boys and two girls.
Betty Lou enjoyed her role as a full-time homemaker and often said that she could not imagine doing anything else in life that would be more fulfilling. She loved her family of four children and continued her nurturing ways and adoration of children by spending as much time with her grandchildren as possible in her later years. They were truly adored and doted upon by their “Mimi.” The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020-2021 was particularly hard on Betty Lou because of social distancing, which lessened her opportunities to spend time with her beloved family.
Betty Lou is survived by her mother, Wilda Witmer of Mount Crawford, Va.; spouse, Simon Kinsinger of Stuarts Draft; three sisters: Emily Witmer of Mount Crawford, Va., Janice Orebaugh (spouse, Everette Orebaugh) of Weyers Cave, Va., and Kathy Rau (spouse, Brian Rau) of Weyers Cave, Va.; two brothers: Michael Witmer of Mount Crawford and Clyde Witmer (spouse, Lorraine [Witmer] Witmer) of Monterey, Va.; four children: Denise Kinsinger of Waynesboro, Va., Thomas Kinsinger (spouse, Chassie [Shelton] Kinsinger) of Stuarts Draft, Va., Debra Bradley (spouse, Billie Bradley) and Edgar Kinsinger (spouse, Stephanie [Brunk] Kinsinger); nine grandchildren, Tobias Kinsinger, Shad Kinsinger, Eleanora Kinsinger, Wilda Bradley, Maya Bradley, Isaac Bradley, Alexander Bradley, Karis Kinsinger, and Elijah Kinsinger.
She was preceded in death by her father, Amos Henry Witmer, on May 3, 2018.
A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2021, at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 1870 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft. All COVID-19 restrictions will apply regarding face masks and social distancing.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Pike Mennonite Church of Harrisonburg. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Kline, Garry Douglas
August 31, 1943 - July 28, 2021
Garry Douglas Kline, 77, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born in Circleville, W. Va., on Aug. 31, 1943, and was a son of the late Joseph Franklin and Bertie (Bennett) Kline.
Garry was a field representative with the Dairy Farmers of America and had 38 years of dedicated service. He had previously worked for Westdale Hatchery. He was a member of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren. Garry was an avid gardener, especially roses, hunter and photographer. He loved helping others and making a difference in the lives of many, but his greatest joy was being a devoted granddaddy.
He was united in marriage on Dec. 1, 2001, to Reba May (Shirk) Kline.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his children, Robbie Kline and wife, Diane, of Stuarts Draft, Jerry Kline of Harrisonburg, Amy Cyzick of Broadway, Regina Harlow and husband, Lee, of Grottoes, Ethel Kimmell and husband, Heath, of Waynesboro, Stephanie Liskey and husband, Charlie, of Keezletown, Shannon Cyzick and wife, Amy Lee, of Briery Branch, Jody Cyzick and wife, Jane, of Clover Hill and Andy Cyzick and wife, Jodi, of Dayton; two sisters, Norma Kline of Grottoes and Shirley Ann Kline of Churchville; three brothers, Joseph Kline Jr. and wife, Arvella, of Hopkins Gap, Berlin Kline of Dayton and Larry Kline of Fulks Run. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jennings Kline, Delno Kline and Jerry Kline as well as special aunt, Mildred, and a granddaughter, Sadie Rose Harlow.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, at Montezuma Church of the Brethren with Pastor Ryan Cooper and Regina Harlow officiating. Burial will follow at Beaver Creek Church Cemetery.

Melvin C. Knepp, 56, of LaGrange, died unexpectedly at 5:52 pm, on Sunday, April 18. He was born on July 27, 1964, in LaGrange, to Chris J. and Mary W. (Lambright) Knepp.
Surviving are five brothers, John (Katie) Knepp of Topeka, William (Edith) Knepp of LaGrange, Enos (Mary Anna) Knepp of Millersburg, Orva Knepp, Christy Jr. (Irma) Knepp both of LaGrange three sisters, Ada Mae (Wilbur) Fry of Topeka, Anna Marie Eash of LaGrange, Edna Ellen (Stanley) Miller of Topeka many nieces and nephews stepmother, Ella C. (Elva) Bontrager of Shipshewana six stepbrothers, David (Katie) Bontrager of Markesan, WI, Ervin (Edna) Bontrager of LaGrange, Andy (Etta) Bontrager of Middlebury, Ammon (Ella) Bontrager of Cambria, WI, Daniel (Suella) Bontrager, Eli Bontrager both of Shipshewana two stepsisters, Esther Bontrager, Amanda (Joe) Coblentz both of LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by his parents brother-in-law, Daniel Eash stepsister, Miriam Bontrager.
Melvin worked at the Blue Gate Restaurant in Shipshewana for 20 years and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Monday, April 19 and all day Tuesday, April 20 at the Christy Jr. Knepp residence, 1275 S. 375 W., LaGrange. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday, April 21 also at the residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Richard Bontrager and the home ministers. Burial will be in Beechy Cemetery, LaGrange.
Knicely, Howard Edward
February 13, 1931 - October 20, 2021
Howard Edward Knicely, 90, a resident of 1192 Cooks Creek Road, Rockingham, passed away Oct. 20, 2021, at his home. Mr. Knicely was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Dayton, Va., and was a son of the late Daniel and Mary Etta Jones Knicely.
He was a dairy farmer and woodworker and a member of Ridgeview Old Order Mennonite Church.
On Dec. 15, 1955, he married Arlene Frances Wenger. Also surviving are three sons, Dan Knicely and wife, Evelyn, Robert Knicely and wife Ethel, and Dewitt Knicely and wife, Elizabeth Ann, of Rockingham; and a brother, Amos D. Knicely of Dayton. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and David Knicely and eight sisters, Pauline Horst, Marie Rohrer, Ethel Rohrer, Alice Knicely, Reba Shank, Martha Shirk, Blanche Martin and Louella Wenger, and one great-granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held at Ridgeview Old Order Mennonite Church, 4802 Mt. Clinton Pike, Rockingham, Va., on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Kratz, Dorothy A. Schrock
February 9, 1930 - January 23, 2021
Dorothy A. Kratz, 90, of Goshen, died January 23, 2021, at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born February 9, 1930 in Kansas City, Kansas to Freedley and Martha (Frey) Schrock. Her siblings are Marvin (Jody) Schrock, deceased and Ed (Irene) Schrock and Eunice (Don) Munn.
In 1950 she graduated from Hesston College with an A.A. degree. She went on to LaJunta School of Nursing in 1953 where she met and married her husband James D. Kratz (deceased) June 4, 1953.
In 1960, Dorothy and Jim took literary studies at Hartford Seminary, Hartford, Connecticut and linguistics in Norman, Oklahoma in preparation for going to the Chaco in Argentina and then moved to Costa Rica where she and Jim studied Spanish in preparation for mission work in Argentina from 1960-1961.
From 1961-1967 she and Jim were stationed in Saenz Pena, Argentina to work with the Toba Indians. She worked with health education and often would administer medications and provide health services to the Tobas.
After returning from Argentina she continued her education at Goshen College and in 1976 received a BA in psychology. One of her dreams was to become a pastor and in 1987 she received her MA from Associated Biblical Seminary. She was on staff at United Methodist Church, Bristol from 1987-1990 and pastored at North Suburban Mennonite Church, Mundelein, Illinois from 1992-1995.
Through the years she worked part time in nursing, retiring in 1995 and then going back to wok part-time at Sunnyside Church from 2002-2005.
Dorothy is survived by three children, Rachel Ann (Phillip) Slabaugh of Green Valley, Arizona, James (Karen) Kratz, Jr. of Elkhart and Rebecca (James) Bening of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren, Mark, Ann, Tammie, Michelle and Jessica and three great-grandchildren, Bristol, Carter and Charlie.
There will be a small private graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be given to Sunnyside Mennonite Church.
Kraybill, Simon Peter
September 6, 1921 - February 6, 2021
Simon Peter Kraybill, of Lititz, and formerly of Elizabethtown; loving husband, family patriarch, farmer, businessman, and servant of the church died at Landis Homes on February 6, 2021 at 99 years of age. Born on September 6, 1921 to Martin and Suie Kraybill of Elizabethtown, Simon married his lifetime love, Mary Jean Sherer, on October 21, 1944. They raised seven children: Leona (Everett Myer), Elvin (Esther Graber), Eugene (Trisha Cawkwell), David (Mary Hershberger), Ronald (Odelya Gertel), Nelson (Ellen Graber), and Leon (Audrey Roth). They also opened their hearts to Barry Knipe and John Daniel Stahl, who joined the household during their teen years.
Simon modeled the satisfaction of productive work on the family potato farm and the importance of diplomacy and honesty. Ever ready to enhance conversation with humor and a twinkle in his eye, Simon cultivated many friendships. He was quick to show forbearance when wronged and to help others in need.
Once, after Simon had observed thieves pumping gas at his farm, he was able to identify the car, parked near a group of young men in town nearby. He approached the young men and invited them home for ice cream. When they finished eating, he said they could have more gas upon request, but he was concerned about their future if they stole. After the guests left, under a plate Mary Jean found enough money to cover the stolen gas. Years later one of the young men apologized.
For decades he and Mary Jean served as co-owners of Kraybill Advertising. Simon annually visited Lancaster County business owners who purchased promotional gifts such as calendars and pens in quantity to give to their clients; Mary Jean was office manager. Simon served as clerk at countless farm and home auctions, and was an insurance agent.
An ordained deacon with life-long membership at Bossler Mennonite Church, Simon regularly taught Sunday School. For eighteen years he was chairman of the Kraybill Mennonite School governing board. In addition to serving as a volunteer and board member at Mount Joy Gift and Thrift shop, he logged up to 6,000 miles per year as a volunteer driver for Love, Inc. He volunteered at Landis Homes.
In addition to encouraging his children in their numerous hobbies, Simon was a ham radio operator and carved a wooden cardinal for each of his children. He started taking piano lessons at age fifty and cut countless patches for comforters going to Mennonite Central Committee relief projects.
Simon was preceded in death by siblings Arlene (infant), Wilmer, and Maribel. He is survived by his wife Mary Jean, siblings Jean Shenk and Nevin, also by seven children, twenty-two grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
At various times as Simon transitioned to a new phase of life, he quoted Isaiah 43, "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing" (KJV). He once said he wished he could peek out of the casket at his own funeral to "make sure it's a celebration of the fact that I've gone home to glory."
There will be a graveside committal service for immediate family at Bossler Mennonite Church, and a memorial service open to all via Zoom at 7pm on Sunday, February 14.
Kreider, Linda L. Gerlitzki
February 24, 1949 - May 14, 2021
On Friday, May 14, 2021, Linda L. Kreider went home to be with the Lord. Born in 1949, she was a life- long resident of Lancaster County. Linda was the daughter of the late Richard and Pearl McClellan Gerlitzki. She had four siblings, Shirley Schaum, Richard Gerlitzki (deceased), Carol Reed, and David Gerlitzki. She was married to James L. Kreider for 33 years.
After retiring as a bookkeeper, she enjoyed volunteering in the community at the Community Closet, Solanco Food Bank and working at the polls on election day. Linda faithfully served for a number of years with the Wesley Women's Society at Wesley Church. She also helped to organize and distribute toys for the Solanco Toy Drive for 17 years. Linda loved music and dancing and making people laugh.
Known as "Bubby" to her family and friends, she will be fondly remembered for her love of cats and sloths and her famous Stromboli.
Linda will be greatly missed by her daughters Jodi (Dave) Conklin and Lori (Adam) Crossen, and her five grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at New Providence Mennonite Church, 121 Main Street, New Providence, PA on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 11:00AM with Pastor Keith W. Martha L. (Miller) Kreider, 84, of Elizabethtown, died peacefully at home on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Born in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond K. and Ruth Z. Longenecker Miller. Martha was the wife of the late Harold H. Kreider who died in 1996 and the late Elmer H. Kreider who died in 2013. She was a member of Rheems Mennonite Church, Mount Joy.
Surviving are six sons: Jerry D. husband of Iva Lynn Kreider of Manheim, Arnold W. husband of Rachel Kreider of Metter, GA, Nelson S. husband of Dorothy Kreider, Harold R. husband of Carolyn Kreider both of Thompsontown, Daniel L. husband of Eunice Kreider of Dover, DE, Nevin P. husband of Mary Kreider of Elizabethtown, three daughters: Grace wife of Elton Gehman of Thompsontown, Gloria wife of Noah Boyle of Elizabethtown, Lois Kreider of Elizabethtown, 71 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, seven stepsons, two stepdaughters, 71 step-grandchildren, 146 step-great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-great- grandchildren, four brothers: Glenn S. of Harrisburg, Samuel of Denver, CO, James and Ernest both of Elizabethtown, three sisters: Anna Ruth wife of Marlin Ressler of Lebanon, Naomi wife of LaMarr Sensenig, of Denver, Marian Nissley Wenger wife of Dale Wenger of Columbiana, OH, a brother-in-law, Amos Sweigart and a sister-in-law, Anna Lois Miller.
Preceding her in death in addition to her two husbands are: seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, a brother, Elmer S. Miller, two sisters: Mary Sweigart, Orpha Miller, a brother-in-law, Milford Nissley and a sister-in-law, Sonja Miller.

Merie L. Kreider, 79, of Lancaster, died at home Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Born in East Hempfield Township, she was the daughter of the late Norman S. and Grace D. Landis. She was the faithful wife of Clyde H. Kreider, and a member of the Simmontown Mennonite Church where her husband served as minister since 1980. She was well-loved for her kind service to all.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are 8 children: Kenneth husband of Virginia Hershey Kreider, Karen Carpenter, both of Metter, GA, Kevin husband of Naomi Baltozer Kreider, Kathleen Kreider, both of Lancaster, Keith husband of Katrina Siegrist Kreider of Metan, Argentina, Kristopher husband of Darla Weaver Kreider of Metter, GA, Karla wife of Gerald Weaver of Emory, TX, and Kenton husband of Renae Kurtz Kreider of Lancaster; 57 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Elaine wife of Clyde Hollinger of Lititz, PA and 1 brother, Clair Landis of Saegertown, PA. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Mark Carpenter, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

June 28, 1941 - May 23, 2021
Philip R. Kreider, 79, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at his home. Mr. Kreider was born June 28, 1941, in Wadsworth, Ohio, and was a son of the late Ford Raymond and Miriam Pauline (Mishler) Kreider.
Phil approached life with a deep desire to learn and with a twinkle in his eye. Highlights of his rich life include being ordained to the ministry in 1978 and pastoring Bethany Mennonite Church, Albany, Ore., which is now part of Albany Mennonite Church, from 1978 until 1984. He later worked for Computer Management and Development Services (now Jenzabar) as a project manager and systems analyst from 1984-2003 when he retired.
He grew enough grapes in his backyard on Rorrer Circle, Harrisonburg, to make wine and open Misty Ray Winery. He enjoyed meeting his customers in the tasting room on Rorrer Circle and loved being a part of Bluestone Vineyards, Bridgewater, as they got their start. He spent 13 years meeting weekly with workers at Special Fleet providing spiritual mentorship and friendship.
He was interested in so many things. To name a few: he enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, and tractors. Having grown up on a farm in Ohio, farming and tractors were always a subject of interest. He was a member of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church and participated in the life and work of the church in many ways.
On June 5, 1965, he married Lois Seitz Kreider, who survives.
Also surviving are a sister, Romona Beyeler and husband, Ivan, of Leo, Ind.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kreider was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Arthur Kreider and Chester Tim Kreider.
Pastor Craig Maven will conduct a memorial service Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Masks are necessary.
At his request, the body was cremated.

Robert M. “Bob” Kreider, 72, of Jonestown, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at his home. He was the husband of Rebecca Weaver Kreider.
Born in East Hempfield Twp. on June 13, 1949, he was the son of the late Mervin and Elma Meyer Kreider. He was a member of the Providence Mennonite Church, Grantville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Timothy (Rebekah) Kreider, of Bronx, NY, Anthony (Christine) Kreider, of Bronx, NY, and Keith (Kirsten) Kreider, of Chambersburg; daughters Carol Kreider, of Siguatepeque, Honduras, Kathy Kreider, of Jonestown, and Becky Sue Kreider, of Siguatepeque, Honduras; brothers Mervin (Priscilla) Kreider, of Myerstown, David (Rebecca) Kreider, of Bethel, Carl (Twila) Kreider, of Annville, and Ray Kreider; sisters Norma (Melvin) Weaver, of Mt. Joy, Martha wife of the late Laban Zimmerman, of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Ruth (Wayne) Rudolph, of Lebanon; 26 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021, at the Swatara Mennonite Church, 10 Camp Swatara Rd., Myerstown. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at the church from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
Kropf, Jacob Elton
September 21, 1941 - January 9, 2021
My dear husband, our Pop and Grandpa, Jacob Elton Kropf, was born on September 21, 1941 at Atkinson, IL to Levi and Freida Kropf. He peacefully passed away at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas on Saturday evening January 9, 2021 around 6:30 pm from complications following a massive stroke at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 19 days. The family had been at Camp Shiloh in Pittsburg, TX for a 3 day family Reunion. On Friday eve before retiring to our beds he led in a devotional reading Psa. 73 and reminding us that we all need to be a part of the spiritual Israel and led in prayer.
That night he awakened with severe discomfort and shortness of breath. He was taken to Texarkana where he was diagnosed with having a massive stroke. A reversal drug was given to offset the effects of the stroke but still needed another procedure to remove the blood clot. He was then flown to Tyler for this purpose but it was unsuccessful. At 5:30 pm we were told his damage was progressing and he would be leaving us soon. The grandchildren were singing at the reunion and a phone was put up to grandpas ear to listen. At 6:30 pm with his wife and 2 of his children at his side a tired soldier was taken home. It was the end of one family reunion for Grandpa but only the beginning of a far more joyous reunion with his Lord and Saviour and his wife and son.
Pop spent his boyhood years with his parents and siblings on a family farm near Thomas,IL. In his youth he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and was baptized on the confession of his faith. He was a faithful member of the Olive Hill Amish Mennonite Church near Sedalia,MO at the time of his death. On July 16, 1961 he was united in marriage to Darlene Baker at Tampico IL. They shared the joys and sorrows of marriage for over 40 years. To this union were born 6 sons and 4 daughters of whom 9 survive.
In January of 1975 they moved to the family farm near Ozan, AR where many memories were made gathering eggs, raising hogs, putting up hay, swimming, and just being together as a family. In 1984 and the years following, grandpas were blessed with many grandchildren who also had many, many precious memories of spending time at grandpas. One favorite time for Pop was the family singing around the big kitchen table in the evening. Many times as we finished he asked for one more song called, "Good Night". Although we didn't always have all this world offers, Pop left us with a far greater inheritance of true riches.
On February 16, 1975 at the age of 34 he was ordained to the ministry and in October 1992 as bishop serving faithfully for many years. He preached many sermons and often expressed his concern of keeping the faith of our fathers. His prayers were a witness of his genuine connection to God.
In 1999 their youngest Marvin was tragically killed in an auto accident. In 2001 Darlene passed away from Ovarian cancer. These deaths were both very traumatic for Pop and gave him a longing to go home and join them.
In 2003 God again provided a help meet to share life with him and once again the sun shone in his life. He moved to the Sedalia, MO area and on March 14, 2003 he was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Hostetler of Sedalia, MO where he resided at the time of his death. He accepted Shirleys children and grandchildren as his own. This acceptance was mutual from his new family and they whole heartedly accepted him as their Pop and Grandpa. Many precious memories were made with Grandpa, grandchildren riding his barrel train, listening to his stories, and eating his barbeque chicken he loved to grill. Grandma was an inspiration to Pops life and made a huge impact on the whole family. The family will be forever grateful for the countless hours she spent caring for Pops needs in the last few years.
Left to cherish fond memories are his wife, five sons, and 4 daughters. Lorena and husband Sid Hostetler of Hartman, AR, Lois and husband Vernon Hostetler of Clarksville, AR, Merle and wife Elida of Nashville, AR, Nora and husband Roy Hostetler of Clarksville, AR, Jake and wife Doreen of Spragueville, IA, Elmer and wife Renee of Hereford, AZ, Amos and wife Renita of DeKalb, TX, Paul and wife Alicia of DeKalb,TX , Katie and husband Brent Hostetler of Nashville, AR. Also 2 step-sons and 4 step-daughters, Rudy Hostetler and wife Jennifer of Sedalia, MO, Gary and wife Dawn of Hotchkiss, CO, Colleen and husband Robert Kropf of Sedalia, MO, Jewel and husband Jake Eigsti of Ravenden Springs, AR, Sharlene and husband Josh Hostetler of Pocohantas, AR, Renae and husband Nathaniel Christner of Pocahontas, AR, and Karla and husband Gene Kropf of Sedalia, MO.
Besides his first wife Darlene and son Marvin, he was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Ada, son-in-law Kevin Kropf, grandchildren Tracey, Troyce, Tyler, Jewell, Deric, and Sara, and also two great grandchildren.
We were so blessed to have had our Pop for these many years. We treasure the many memories of times spent with him. We are grateful to God for Pop's testimony during his life and his ministry and pray the many ways other lives have been touched will bring glory to Him. Grandpa had a living faith and endeavored to keep the faith, and honoring his parents as he had been taught. He also had a deep concern for the spiritual welfare of his family and church.

Kropf, Wilbur David
January 16, 1925 - April 19, 2021
Wilbur David Kropf was born to Levi and Lydia (Maurer) Kropf on January 16, 1925, in Albany, Oregon. He lived with his parents near Harrisburg, Oregon, until they moved to the Lake Creek area near Halsey in the fall of 1929. He attended the grade school at Lake Creek in his elementary years. Early in life, he was baptized at the Harrisburg Mennonite Church.
During World War II he served in a Civilian Public Service (CPS) camp in Montana. He later served in Roseburg at a hospital for those with mental disorders. In the fall of 1946 after World War II he assisted in taking a ship load of mules to Greece.
He met Erma Swartzentruber of Ohio, and they were married on December 7, 1947.
Their home was blessed with five children, of whom all survive: Mark and wife Lavon of Cataldo, Idaho; Miriam and husband Emanuel Byler of Chassell, Michigan; Jonathan and wife Sharon, Paul and wife Marla, both of Halsey, Oregon; and Dorcas and husband Steve Stutzman of Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife Erma, parents, one brother Elmer, and one daughter-in-law, Cynthia Kropf.
Wilbur was ordained to the ministry at the Harrisburg Mennonite Church on May 8, 1949. He only had a grade school education, but he applied himself to learning by reading and studying. His sermons were rich in deep theology, yet very practical in application.
In 1989 he and his wife served for two years in mission work in Belize, Central America. In the following years, they made many trips to Belize to serve for short periods and to assist in the work there. In 2004 they made their final trip to Belize. They also served the churches in Fairfield, Montana, Cove, Oregon, and Payette, Idaho.
It was his stated desire that any good that came from his efforts and contributions to the work of God's kingdom be for God's glory.
We wish to express our appreciation to Evergreen Samaritan Hospice for their support at the end of his life. The family also wishes to express their thanks for the prayers, condolences, and gifts of food over this time.
A viewing is planned for April 24 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Harrisburg Mennonite Church. A funeral service is planned for Sunday, April 25, 10:00 a.m. at the Halsey Mennonite Church.
Kuhns, Richard O.

Richard O. Kuhns, age 49 of Nappanee, IN, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 10:49 pm on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. Mr. Kuhns was born on February 29, 1972 in Bremen, IN to Omar and Lydia (Raber) Kuhns and was a lifelong Nappanee area resident. He married Wanita Hochstetler on May 4, 1995 in Nappanee, IN. Mr. Kuhns was a member of the Griner Church of Middlebury, IN.
He is survived by his wife Wanita Kuhns of Nappanee, IN; 2 sons, Bryan Dean Kuhns and Steven Ray Kuhns both of Nappanee, IN; 6 daughters, Vonda Jean (Lawayne) Harshberger of Bremen, IN, Karen Sue Kuhns, Regina Diane Kuhns, Brenda Kay Kuhns, Marla Rose Kuhns, Rhoda Fern Kuhns all of Nappanee, IN; mother, Lydia Kuhns of Nappanee, IN; 4 brothers, LeRoy (Linda) Kuhns of Nappanee, IN, Joseph (LeAnna) Kuhns of Bremen, IN, Samuel (Melinda) Kuhns, Glenn (Donna) Kuhns both of Nappanee, IN; 4 sisters, Edith Kuhns of Nappanee, IN, Irene (Richard) Miller of Plymouth, IN, Bertha (Jacob) Borkholder, Norma (Jonathon) Borkholder both of Nappanee, IN; and a sister-in-law, Maureen (Ray) Kiem of Kansas City, MO.

Kurtz, Paul S.
November 15, 1941 - November 10, 2021
Paul S. Kurtz, age 79, went home to be with the Lord just 5 days short of his 80th birthday. He was born November 15, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Thelma Irene (Kissinger) Kurtz. A roofer by trade, Paul was an ordained Pastor and Bishop. His delight was preaching the gospel and seeing souls come to Christ. God gave him a gift of ministry and he used it to his glory. He assisted in church planting in many different countries. Many people came to Christ through his evangelist crusades throughout the world, and especially in his street ministries to New York City and India. He was a member of the Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife Naomi. She was his childhood friend/teenage sweetheart and they would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on November 17th; He adored his children and grandchildren and they are as follows: children Deborah Zaluski, Paul Jr. (Alison) Kurtz, John (Rita) Kurtz, Rhoda (Marcus) Schrock; 12 grandchildren Matthew and Abbey Zaluski, Olivia, Madeline and Austin Kurtz, Chase, Lauren, McKenna and Seth Kurtz, Alexis, Grace and Luke Schrock. He is also survived by one brother and 3 sisters. Preceded in death by son-in-law Dennis Zaluski; baby brother and 2 sisters.
Calling hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM at Hartville Conservative Mennonite Church. Funeral services are Wednesday 10:30 AM in the church with Pastor David Gingerich officiating. Final resting place is Walnut Grove Cemetery.
